AN elderly woman died after a fire at her home near Lower Tean yesterday.
Firefighters and paramedics were called to the blaze in Withington Lane, near Church Leigh, at around 8.10am.
But the woman, who has not yet been named, was confirmed dead at the scene.
Fire officers and police are due to launch a joint investigation into the incident, in which the woman’s dog also died.
