Woman faces murder charge as victim is named
A CHEADLE woman is due to appear at Stafford Crown Court on Wednesday charged with murder.
Charlene Sargeant, of Sun Street, was remanded in custody when she appeared before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Monday morning.
The 24-year-old is charged with the murder of a woman in Cheadle on March 16.
Staffordshire Police have now confirmed the identity of the victim as Rocky Sargeant, aged 53.
A spokesman said: “Family members are being supported by specially-trained officers at this difficult time.”
