There was a fabulous atmosphere in a Moorlands town at the weekend – with lots of sun and varied music events. Here are a few photos from just some of the events which took place over the weekend in Leek.

There was a fabulous atmosphere in a Moorlands town at the weekend – with lots of sun and varied music events.

Here are a few photos from just some of the events which took place over the weekend in Leek.

Sunday (May 8) saw the welcome return of the bandstand concerts in Brough Park, Leek – starting with a sunny performance by the Dave Egerton Swing Band.

More than 100 people turned out for musical interlude, with many enjoying light refreshments served at the “Bandstand Cafe’ run by the Friends of Brough Park. The concerts have been put in by the Friends with support from Leek Town Council. See page 21 for the full programme of concerts at the bandstand for 2022.

Meanwhile, at the Wilkes Head, the Rondino String Quartet played a full set of varied tunes from classical to pop, and from Disney film music to classic rock.

The afternoon of music at the St Edward Street venue was part of this year’s Leek Arts Festival which has also made a welcome comeback this year.

Also on Sunday, talented young songstress Kloe Louise performed at the weekly acoustic slot at the Fountain Inn, Leek – again performing a wide variety of songs.
