Tribute has been paid to a much-loved character in the Moorlands. David William Byatt, who was known as Sam, sadly passed away at the age of 55, on December 1, at his home in Cheadle.
Tribute has been paid to a much-loved character in the Moorlands.
David William Byatt, who was known as Sam, sadly passed away at the age of 55, on December 1, at his home in Cheadle.
Sam was the dearly loved son of Audrey and the late Bill Byatt, step son of the late Ken, much loved brother of Diane, Zelda and the late Sue, step brother of Richard and a dear uncle and friend to many.
Deborah Coates said of Sam: “Sadly we have lost one of Cheadle’s true characters. David Byatt (Sam as he was known) has sadly passed away.”
Sam lived in Tean and Cheadle all of his life.
Deborah said: “He loved his nights out, anyone who was in is company in the local pub would be entertained all night with his renowned wit and humour.
“Sam had many friends and many people will have fond memories.
“He had a heart of gold and he will be truly missed in the town.”
In accordance with the current government guidelines a private service for Sam will be taking place at Cheadle Parish Church flowed by interment at Cheadle Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent or donations if desired for the Edward Myers Unit.
