Staffordshire County Council last week confirmed a decision to slash the amount of money it spends on subsidies in a bid to save £1.3 million a year.
The move, which follows an eight-week consultation period, will lead to the cancellation of several routes in the Moorlands including a service connecting Cheadle and Leek via Ipstones, Foxt, Whiston, Froghall and Kingsley Holt.
But the council has vowed to explore options for supporting some of the journeys that will no longer be subsidised from April, 2018.
And parish councillor Linda Malyon, who led a storm of protest against the plan, is hoping the route through Ipstones is among them.
