SCARECROWS, virtual stock judging and a beverage competition were just some of the new features at Denstone Show which proved to draw in a successful crowd this year.
The village show, which has seen a major shake-up this year with some modern additions, has even had it’s name changed to Denstone Country Show.
Visitors flocked to the village hall and surrounding designated show areas for a day of family fun, with the usual produce and flower shows, fancy dress competitions and demonstrations.
But, new for this year, and something which has proven a popular addition to the programme was the parade – which included homemade floats created by villagers and businesses in the area.
A number of hand-made carts were pulled through the village, cheered on by crowds of villagers and visitors on the day.
The annual scarecrow festival was extended to merge with the country show, and with the extra addition of the ‘public vote’ – people got to have their say on the judging.
The theme for this year’s scarecrow competition was ‘childhood’, an easy choice for every member of the family to get involved in.
