OLYMPIC champion Adam Peaty is in line for a unique double honour to mark his remarkable achievements on the world stage.
An image of the swimming star, from Uttoxeter, is to be added to a colourful mural at the town’s train station while a new extension at the town hall will be named after him.
And the family of the 23-year-old star have this week welcomed the news.
Mum Caroline said: “We’re extremely proud that Uttoxeter has recognised Adam and I think quite a lot of people will be pleased that the town has made such a tribute to him.
“It’s a piece of history for our family that will be recorded and it’s the town’s history as well.”
