Police chase ends in Moorlands village
POLICE in pursuit of suspected armed robbers brought a dramatic chase to an end in a village in the Moorlands.
The search, across three counties, came to an end in Alton on Saturday afternoon.
Three men are now facing charges including false imprisonment and possessing an offensive weapon.
The chase began after reports of a knife-point robbery at a travel agent in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
Police officers from Cheshire Police joined forces with colleagues from the Staffordshire force during the pursuit.
A police helicopter was deployed during the pursuit from Cheshire, across Derbyshire and into Staffordshire on Saturday 20th May.
The chase was brought to a halt at the junction of Uttoxeter Road, Lime Kiln Lane and Hurstons Lane.
John Alderson, aged 55, of Reeds Avenue East in Leasowe, has been charged with robbery and false imprisonment.
Michael Connolly, aged 52 from Upper Federick Street in Liverpool has been charged with robbery, false imprisonment and possessing an offensive weapon.
Ian Hughes, aged 51 from Sheil Road in Liverpool has been charged with robbery and false imprisonment.
