An agricultural show is set to go ahead this summer.
Following a cancelled show last year, due to the pandemic, the Manifold Show will be back at it’s regular venue of The Arbour, Castern Hall in Ilam, on Saturday, August 14.
Show president Martin Gill told the Times & Echo: “It is full steam ahead.
“We have lots of highlights for this year’s show, including the shire horses.”
Mr Gill added: “It is exciting to be back this year, and we will be doing our upmost to make people feel safe and stay well.
“We would like to encourage families to come out and enjoy a good family day out at our show.”
The Manifold Valley Agricultural Society was formed in 1980 to foster competition and fellowship within the rural community of the 18 parishes bounding the course of the River Manifold.
According to the show’s website, generally, entrants at the show are limited to those who reside, own or rent property in these parishes; although there are exceptions to this rule for the Heavy Horse section, the Rare Breeds, a number of the Cattle Classes and for all of the Pet Classes.
