A community-run library is hosting a special book reading this month.
A book reading by popular local GP Bernard Shevlin will be taking place on Saturday, July 24, at Cheadle’s Community Library from 10.30am.
A spokesman for the volunteer team which runs the High Street library, said: “The reading is aimed at children aged between four to eight years old and will last around an hour.
“Dr Shevlin is a well-known local personality and this reading event is sure to be great fun.
“Dr Bernard will give the kids the chance of talking about doctors and hospitals in a light-hearted way and talk about the great benefits of bed-time stories.
“He will also show them some medical instruments from his doctor’s bag and then read from one of his children’s books ‘The Amazing Adventures of Henry and Ho-Ho’ in which his mischievous son stars.”
Anyone wishing to attend the reading, is asked to record their interest in the library or through the venue’s Facebook page at fb.com/cheadlecommunitylibrary.
Fancy dress as a doctor or nurse is optional for library visitors that day.
