A POPULAR Cheadle takeaway has been ordered to take urgent action after inspectors uncovered a catalogue of food hygiene failures.
Delicious Kebab House, in High Street, was handed a zero rating and told immediate improvement is necessary.
Staff left in charge of the premises were said to have no food hygiene training and were described as lacking basic knowledge of temperatures, cleaning and the risk of cross-contamination.
A table in the main kitchen area was found to be in a ‘filthy condition’, the cellar area used for storage and cooking southern fried chicken was ‘dirty’ and fridge handles and taps were ‘dirty and greasy’.
A council official who carried out a routine inspection of the premises on March 6 also found a delivery of a donor kebab, still in its fabric wrapping, had been left on the floor.
A total of 20 issues were listed in the inspector’s report, published online this week, with no less than 16 requiring immediate action.
