The Member of Parliament for Uttoxeter, Kate Griffiths, has hosted an event for high street businesses to share their views on the historic market town and its future. The event last Wednesday (July 27), was held at Uttoxeter Town Hall and gave business owners and store managers an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas on town centre regeneration.

ORGANIST and keyboard player, Carol Bradbury is encouraging people across Uttoxeter to put on their dancing shoes in support of the town’s Olympic hero Adam Peaty. Carol, known as ‘Twinklefingers’ has returned to Uttoxeter Town Hall to play musical accompaniment for the twice-monthly tea dances.

A FARMER is appealing for help in his quest to find a photograph of a tractor that was taken outside Uttoxeter Town Hall in 1948. The machine now belongs to Arthur Prime who farms in the area, and he has spent years trying to track down photographs taken when it was brand new. The UDS diesel tractor by Minneapolis-Moline (England Ltd) was shipped over in kit form from the USA in the late 1940s and assembled at Sale Tilney & Co Ltd at Wokingham in Berkshire where a Dorman diesel engine, made in Stafford, was installed.
