Town’s ‘Big Questionnaire’ results are in

The results are in from a consultation which focused on the future of a Moorlands town. Cheadle stakeholder subgroup, an unpaid volunteer group of residents supported by Team Cheadle, was tasked by Cheadle Town Stakeholder Panel with obtaining the views of residents and the community on the potential town centre development projects.

‘High Street Musical’ comes to town

Live music is set to make a welcome comeback to a Moorlands town centre this coming weekend. Following on from live performances in Cheadle town centre as part of the town’s Arts Festival last month, Rick Hermolle has now, in conjunction with Team Cheadle, organised to present ‘High Street Musical: Enhanced Shopping experience’ in the town centre this coming Saturday (July 17). Plus there is free parking for shoppers and visitors to Cheadle town centre this Saturday.

Town spruced up with bunting and flags

A Moorlands town centre is back open for business – and with new welcoming décor. Bunting and flags have been put up along the High Street in Cheadle in an initiative to bring more visitors to the Moorlands town.

Free parking to bring footfall to town centre

Visitors to a Moorlands town centre are set to benefit from free parking this weekend. Those visiting Cheadle on Saturday (April 24) will be able to make the most of three hours free parking thanks to Cheadle Town Council which has organised the initiative with Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (SMDC), the council which has remit over most of the town’s car parks.

Financial support agreed by council

A town council has agreed to a number of grants which are to be made to community groups next year. Before their main virtual meeting on Monday (December 7), Cheadle Town Council held a meeting (again online) to discuss and agree upon a number of grants the council will pay out during the financial year of 2021/22.

Let’s still illuminate town together

This year's Christmas Lights Switch On Event for Cheadle had set to take place this Saturday (November 21). It would have included the ever-popular Team Cheadle Victorian Christmas event which would have seen thousands of people visiting the town centre to join in on the festivities.

Lots of entertainment scheduled for VE Day celebrations

A PACKED schedule of celebrations for the 75th anniversary of VE Day has been organised for a Moorlands town. A street party, the special planting of a dedicated tree and even the possibility of a fly-over are just some of the events set for Cheadle to mark the day in 1945 when allied forces in World War II accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany. The weekend of jovial community activity will begin on Friday, May 8 and last until Sunday, May 10.

Festivities are just around the corner

PLANS are in motion for a special event which will see the Christmas festivities in a Moorlands town begin. The festive season is set to officially start in Cheadle on Saturday November 16, when the Christmas lights will be switched on during the annual event organised by Team Cheadle. This year the theme is Victorian Christmas, and everyone attending is invited to dress up to help invoke a traditional Christmas feel.
