Three priority projects for Cheadle – including a new leisure centre - are set to be delivered by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (SMDC). The council’s cabinet thanked Cheadle Stakeholder Panel at a meeting yesterday (Tuesday) and resolved to deliver on leisure, town centre regeneration and parking.

A community leader has re-affirmed Staffordshire Moorlands District Council’s (SMDC) intention to meet the desires of Cheadle representatives regarding car park works. Cheadle town councillors who sit on the district council and SMDC leader Sybil Ralphs along with deputy leader Mark Deaville held a meeting six weeks ago to discuss a ‘Strategic Car Parking Strategy’ for its car parks going forward.

A council scrutiny panel has voted for a call-in of a controversial report surrounding the future of a Moorlands town to be upheld. The Staffordshire Moorlands District Council's Service Delivery Overview & Scrutiny Panel' met virtually last Wednesday (November 18) and one of the agenda items was the ‘call-in’ of the Cheadle Town Centre Projects report which had been agreed on by the SMDC Cabinet at their October 6 meeting.
