Large containers of nitrous oxide found at a village near Uttoxeter could be part of a ‘worrying’ new trend. The British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA), said people misusing nitrous oxide – also known as noz, balloons and laughing gas – were buying the gas in containers 70 times larger than previously.

N EDUCATION centre, encouraging children to learn through the love of animals is to reopen this week. TURN Education, at Stramshall, was forced to close when the UK went into lockdown, but now has implemented new measures to allow youngsters to return this weekend. The centre offers children and young people the chance to engage in therapeutic and holistic activities which help break down barriers to learning.

A £55k highways scheme has been approved for Uttoxeter alongside a speed review on an arterial road into town and traffic calming in Stramshall. The works are part of a £42.7 million fund allocated to highways and transport by Staffordshire County Council for 2020/21.

FOUR cows have been stolen from a farm in East Staffordshire. The heifers, some who were believed to have been pregnant, were taken by thieves overnight of Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14. Tools and fuel were also taken during the raid which took place at a farm in the Creighton area of Stramshall, near Uttoxeter.
