Police are warning people across the Moorlands and East Staffordshire to ensure their properties are secure after four burglaries where people have entered via an unlocked door occurred in a matter of hours. The incidents, in Coppenhall and Bradley, both near Stafford, Codsall, and Kingsley Holt, near Cheadle, all happened yesterday on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 18.

A POLICE officer from Uttoxeter has raised more than £8,000 by shaving off his infamous ‘man bun.’ PC Rich Lymer lost 22 inches of hair on Saturday at a community fun day to mark the loss of his ‘luscious locks.’

A Moorlands resident is calling for more to be done by councils and the police regarding fly-tipping in the area. Cheadle resident Dean Powell, who is part of the Cheadle Moorlands Litter Pickers group, has contacted the Times & Echo with even more issues surrounding fly-tipping within the area. He has also set out his suggestions on how he feels this issue could be tackled.

Police are warning dog owners to keep their pets under control after two dogs killed a number of sheep in the Moorlands. Police were called at 7am on Saturday (April 24) to farmland on Rectory Road in Hollington following reports of animals injured.

Visitors at scenic spots in the Moorlands have been issued with fines surrounding breaking the current Covid-19 rules. It is understood that the £200 fines were issued at a number of scenic Moorlands spots on Saturday (January 9) including in Alton and Froghall.

Police are appealing for witnesses after criminal damage was caused to a community building in the Moorlands. The incident happened at The Blythe Centre in Uttoxeter Road in Blythe Bridge on the evening of January 4.

Detectives have launched an investigation into four burglaries which all took place on the same day in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Properties in Draycott, Cheadle, and Checkley, were targeted between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday, December 2.
