AN honesty shop at a rural farm has been targeted by thieves amid the coronavirus pandemic. A roadside shop at Sam’s Hens, Croxden, was broken into during the early hours of Monday. The raiders stole a freezer full of ice cream as well as a cash box.

A TEENAGER was left with minor injuries after being assaulted by a group of other teenagers at the weekend. Police officers were called to a report of an assault on Uttoxeter Road in Blythe Bridge on Sunday afternoon with members of the West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) also in attendance. The teenager subjected to the attack was assessed and discharged at the scene into the care of a relative.

STAFFORDSHIRE Police are urging residents to be vigilant after a big quantity of credit cards and pin numbers have been found in rural postboxes. The force said that individuals in rural locations have discovered “large numbers” of such cards that they have not been applied for in external mail boxes. Police said they believe that fraudsters are intending to return to these later on to remove them before occupants have any knowledge.

A LARGE quantity of illegal drugs have been seized at two different properties in the Moorlands by Staffordshire Police. Officers executed a warrant on two addresses in Blythe Bridge on Friday, November 1 where they found a considerable amount of Class B and Class A drugs. Both addresses were located in Roseacre Lane.

A SUDDEN death in Cheadle is not being treated as suspicious, police have said. Emergency services were called to Attlee Road in the town last week, where a man in his 40s was found dead. A woman at the scene was taken to hospital.

POLICE have named a woman who died in a road traffic collision near Uttoxeter on Sunday. Catherine Smith, aged 57 of Stafford, died when the car she was travelling in was in collision with another at around 2pm on Sunday, September 29 in Loxley, near Uttoxeter. Sadly, Catherine was pronounced dead at the scene. A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “Catherine's family members are being supported by specially-trained officers and have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time.”

POLICE are appealing for farmers to drive carefully and with fair consideration in an East Staffordshire village. Staffordshire Police has confirmed that the force has received complaints regarding the manner in which agricultural vehicles are travelling along Radmore Lane in Abbots Bromley. Police Constable Rich Lymer said: “It has been suggested that the vehicles are travelling at speeds too great for the conditions albeit within the speed limit and are mounting up grass verges causing damage to the verges, hedgerows and also due to heavy and harsh braking causing damage to the road surface.

A CONSIDERABLE amount of alcohol and tobacco has been stolen during a break-in at a shop in the Moorlands. Staffordshire Police have confirmed that burglars broke into Co-op on Uttoxeter Road in Blythe Bridge and that a “large quantity” of these age-restricted items were taken at around 3am yesterday (Tuesday, August 20). The force has stated that the offenders forced entry and “made off from the scene.”

CAR and house keys were stolen from a property in East Staffordshire when a burglar outside of the dwelling used an “implement” device to take the items through a letter box. The incident happened at around 3am at a house on Beacon Road in Rolleston-on-Dove, near Uttoxeter on Thursday, August 15. A spokesperson from Staffordshire Police said: “It is believed that the offender used an implement to pull the keys through the letterbox without ever entering the address.”
