DRUG RAIDS AT TWO VILLAGE PROPERTIES

A LARGE quantity of illegal drugs have been seized at two different properties in the Moorlands by Staffordshire Police. Officers executed a warrant on two addresses in Blythe Bridge on Friday, November 1 where they found a considerable amount of Class B and Class A drugs. Both addresses were located in Roseacre Lane.

Police and ambulance called to “sudden death” incident

A SUDDEN death in Cheadle is not being treated as suspicious, police have said. Emergency services were called to Attlee Road in the town last week, where a man in his 40s was found dead. A woman at the scene was taken to hospital.

Police name woman who died in road traffic collision

POLICE have named a woman who died in a road traffic collision near Uttoxeter on Sunday. Catherine Smith, aged 57 of Stafford, died when the car she was travelling in was in collision with another at around 2pm on Sunday, September 29 in Loxley, near Uttoxeter. Sadly, Catherine was pronounced dead at the scene. A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “Catherine's family members are being supported by specially-trained officers and have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time.”

Police warning to farmers after complaints in village

POLICE are appealing for farmers to drive carefully and with fair consideration in an East Staffordshire village. Staffordshire Police has confirmed that the force has received complaints regarding the manner in which agricultural vehicles are travelling along Radmore Lane in Abbots Bromley. Police Constable Rich Lymer said: “It has been suggested that the vehicles are travelling at speeds too great for the conditions albeit within the speed limit and are mounting up grass verges causing damage to the verges, hedgerows and also due to heavy and harsh braking causing damage to the road surface.

Large quantity of alcohol and cigarettes stolen from store

A CONSIDERABLE amount of alcohol and tobacco has been stolen during a break-in at a shop in the Moorlands. Staffordshire Police have confirmed that burglars broke into Co-op on Uttoxeter Road in Blythe Bridge and that a “large quantity” of these age-restricted items were taken at around 3am yesterday (Tuesday, August 20). The force has stated that the offenders forced entry and “made off from the scene.”

Burglar stole house and car keys from house

CAR and house keys were stolen from a property in East Staffordshire when a burglar outside of the dwelling used an “implement” device to take the items through a letter box. The incident happened at around 3am at a house on Beacon Road in Rolleston-on-Dove, near Uttoxeter on Thursday, August 15. A spokesperson from Staffordshire Police said: “It is believed that the offender used an implement to pull the keys through the letterbox without ever entering the address.”

Police have released CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to in connection with a burglary in East Staffordshire. The incident happened a couple of weeks ago in Uttoxeter town centre and Staffordshire Police have released an image to help with their enquiries into the incident which involved £250 in cash being stolen.

Conditional discharge for possession of drugs

A CHEADLE woman has been given a 12 months conditional discharge after being caught with a Class A drug. Louise Stone, aged 42, of Cheltenham Avenue in Cheadle was arrested by Staffordshire Police on July 12, following the issue of a warrant for an address in Cheadle’s High Street. She was arrested under the suspicion of failing to appear and possession of a Class A, and was subsequently charged with possession of a Class A drug.

Police desks close to public

POLICE reception desks in Cheadle and Uttoxeter are to be officially closed to the public. The move – revealed yesterday (Tuesday) – has come under fire from community leaders in both towns. Staffordshire Police confirmed only three front office counters will remain open to the public - at Burton, Cannock and Longton. Cheadle and Uttoxeter Police Station front office counters will be officially closed, along with 13 others in Burslem, Leek, Hanley, Lichfield, Stafford, Newcastle, Tamworth, Biddulph, Wombourne, Watling, Stone, Rugeley, and Kidsgrove.

Trio of 12-year-olds interviewed after toilet damage

THREE children have been interviewed by police after damage to public toilets in Cheadle. The trio of 12-year-old boys will be referred to Staffordshire Police force's Youth Offending Team. Officers were investigating criminal damage at Tean Road recreation ground after an incident there last week.
