Cheadle Para-athlete Shaun Burrows was cruelly denied a medal by just 0.04 seconds when finishing fourth in the T38 classification 100m at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. It was an excellent performance by the 24-year- old who had taken a step back from 400m to gain his Team England place at the Alexander Stadium.

A para-athlete from the Staffordshire Moorlands has been selected to compete in this year’s Commonwealth Games, in Birmingham, after qualifying to run at a much shorter distance. Shaun Burrows, from Cheadle, made his debut appearance as a T38 para-athlete over 400m at last year's Paralympic Games, in Tokyo, after overcoming health problems, where he finished seventh in the final.

A para-athlete from Cheadle has reminisced on his time at the Tokyo Paralympics after enjoying comeback success. Shaun Burrows was on the verge of calling time on his career in 2018 after sustaining a long-term hamstring injury.

A Moorlands para-athlete is gearing up to take part in the Tokyo Paralympics Games. Shaun Burrows, who lives in Cheadle, will be competing in one of two heats of the T38 Men’s 400 metres race on Monday (August 30) – Tokyo time: 12.11pm for Heat One, or 12.19pm for Heat Two.

A para-athlete from the Moorlands has been selected to compete in this year’s Paralympic Games in Tokyo. Shaun Burrows, of Cecilly Grove in Cheadle is a T38 Para athlete who went to the Para World Championships in Doha 2015 where he won a bronze medal for the 400 metres.
