A Moorlands mum-of-two thought she was going to die after being struck down by excruciating pain from a mystery illness and being transferred by ambulance to University Hospital of North Midland’s Major Trauma Centre. Georgia Forrester, of Froghall Road in Cheadle, is set to feature in the third episode of 999 Critical Condition, the Channel 5 behind the scenes documentary charting the life-saving decisions of clinicians at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

A CARE HOME in the Moorlands has confirmed that one of its residents is being treated in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). A spokesman for Church Terrace Care Home in Cheadle stated that the home is “clear and there are no symptoms of the virus in residents or staff.” They also said that all standard precautions have been taken to prevent development.

GARY Ross thought he had simply pulled a muscle after suffering from chest pain for three days but once seen by the life-saving staff at Royal Stoke University Hospital he was told he needed urgent surgery or faced the risk of dying. The father-of-one, who lives in Tean, was transferred to the hospital's Coronary Care Unit where life-saving scans and tests revealed his aorta, the main artery in the body, had torn. He then had urgent surgery to prevent a catastrophic rupture and any further bleeding.
