Creative display back to remember the fallen

A community created display is back in a Moorlands town centre for Remembrance. A blanket of poppies created by the Creative Cheadle group, has, once again, been placed cascading down the MarketCross in High Street, Cheadle.

New plans for Remembrance Sunday

NEW arrangements have been put in place for Remembrance Sunday after the Prime Minister announced a second lockdown would begin tomorrow (Thursday). Previous plans taking into account Government guidelines around social distancing have been pared back further in an attempt to allow the town to pay its respects to the fallen.

Moorlanders urged to ‘Remember at Home’ this November

Residents across the Moorlands are being asked to mark Remembrance Sunday safely from their homes this year as efforts to control the spread of coronavirus continue. Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, Staffordshire Police, the town councils and local branches of the Royal British Legion have worked together to ensure that, collectively, the district honours the service and sacrifices of our Armed Forces whilst safeguarding our communities.

Battle’s Over – communities join international tribute

BEACONS of light will shine out across the UK to mark the day the guns fell silent at the end of the Great War. An international campaign of Remembrance will see towns and villages across the country and beyond hold special services and light specially designed beacons to mark 100 years since the end of the conflict. Cheadle, Dilhorne, Croxden, Rocester, Kingsley, Cotton, Draycott-in-the-Moors and Cheddleton and Wetley Rocks are all taking part in the 'Battle's Over' commemoration on Sunday, November 11.
