The plight of refugees from Ukraine has prompted a Uttoxeter businessman to travel to Poland with donations of clothes and essentials. Father of two, Chris Turner, 46, is a former police officer and now runs his own high pressure cleaning business Sir Lance-A-Lot.

Aid initiative continues to strive in town
A humanitarian aid initiative in a Moorlands town is continuing to strive. We reported last month that Bank House in St Edward Street, Leek, has become a hub for people to drop off donations of items and cash to help those affected by war-torn Ukraine.
