A GROUP of residents who help keep their town clean by picking up litter are scheduled to re-start it’s monthly meets again soon. The Cheadle Moorlands Litter Pickers is set to meet on Sunday (February 2) at 10am for the first time this year after taking a short break over winter and the group of volunteers is inviting residents down to assist in the deed. The initiative started in August 2018 with still current members meeting on the first Sunday of every month outside Bargain Booze, located on High Street, before travelling around town to pick up items of waste left in public spaces.

A HOSPITAL in a Moorlands town is set to be “repurposed” after medical authorities voted on future health and social care community-based services. The decision on Cheadle Hospital, located on Royal Walk, comes after members of the North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Groups’ (CCGs) Governing Bodies voted on which Integrated Care Hubs ‘option’ they wanted to see implemented at a meeting at the Moat House in Stoke-on-Trent on Tuesday, January 21. Out of several choices, members elected to vote in “Option 2b” which stated that: “Leek Hospital Hub services delivered from existing Leek Hospital site (with rebuild) with Cheadle hospital site repurposed.”

THE FUTURE of health services in the Moorlands is set to be decided upon this week – a decision which involves Cheadle Hospital. NHS Clinical Commissioners are set to make a decision on the ‘Future of Local Health Services’ in North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent at a public meeting to be held in Stoke-on-Trent tomorrow. The Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent are holding the Extra-Ordinary Governing Body Meeting from 2pm until 5pm on Tuesday, January 21 at the Moat House Hotel in Stoke-on-Trent.
