Feasibility study for pedestrian bridge on busy road

A community leader is stumping up his share of a council community fund to pay for a feasibility study for a potential pedestrian bridge along a busy road. Cheadle councillor Gary Bentley has told the Times & Echo that he is putting forward a total of £620 in funding to help pay for a feasibility study to look into the possibility of having a pedestrian bridge to help people to safely walk along the A521 in The Green area of Cheadle.

Cheers to tenth beer festival

A PUBLIC house's tenth annual beer festival has been hailed as a success – despite a slightly damp bank holiday weekend. A total of 21 real ales and some traditional ciders were available for punters to enjoy at the Huntsman beer Festival in Cheadle which ran from Friday, May 24 through to Sunday, May 26. The free admission event also included live music with 'Start The Car' on Friday evening, 'Vinyl Overdrive' on Saturday, and 'Kiss The Blarney' on Sunday afternoon.
