A man has been arrested over a collision in which a Moorlands man died in Hollington last month. Police were called at 2.15am on Thursday, February 24 to Buttermilk Hill following reports of a traffic-related incident.

The family of a man who died in a suspected non-stop collision have paid tribute to their loved one. Thomas Henry Kent passed away in the early hours of Thursday (February 24) on Buttermilk Hill in Hollington aged just 32.

A grateful family from Hollington have presented a cheque for £12,000 to the dedicated children’s ward at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital following a six-month fundraising campaign. Janine Bloor, mother of 14-year-old Eleanor, decided to fundraise for Alice Ward as a thank you for the care the team on the ward provided to her daughter following a T12 spinal cord injury – meaning her vertebra was crushed due to extreme compression – back in 2018.

Police are warning dog owners to keep their pets under control after two dogs killed a number of sheep in the Moorlands. Police were called at 7am on Saturday (April 24) to farmland on Rectory Road in Hollington following reports of animals injured.

A number of commemorative trees have been planted within a Moorlands parish. Members of Checkley Parish Council have been out with their spades planting trees in the villages of Upper Tean, Lower Tean, Checkley, Hollington and Fole.

More than 20 firefighters helped to put out a large fire at a farm in the Moorlands this week. Staffordshire Fire & Rescue were called to a farm in Hollington in the early hours of yesterday morning (Tuesday, April 21).

BOUNDARY walls at a village church have been repaired with help from JCB. The digger giant donated £5,000 towards vital renovations at the Church of St John the Evangelist in Hollington. The historic Grade II listed building is just a few miles from JCB’s World Headquarters in Rocester.
