Staff and friends at a store in Cheadle have completed a ‘hair raising’ charity challenge. The team of six from Bargain Booze Plus on Cheadle’s High Street have had their long locks cut off in a bid to raise lots of cash for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.

A LANDLADY shaved off her hair as part of a fund-raiser for the NHS. Lisa Cowell, landlady at the Bagot Arms in Abbots Bromley, has raised more than £1,800 after shaving her locks off in lock down. Lisa sat on a stool outside the pub on Sunday as her son, James, shaved off her hair.

A VILLAGE landlady is planning to shave her locks during lock down in support of friends working on the frontline of the fight against coronavirus. Lisa Cowell, landlady at the Bagot Arms in Abbots Bromley, has already gathered more than £1,000 in donations ahead of the stunt which will take place on Sunday, May 3.

TWO TEENAGERS from the Moorlands have shaved their heads as part of a challenge that aims to raise money for the NHS as it battles the outbreak of coronavirus. Friends Joe Avery, from Cheadle, and Alfie Walford, from Kingsley, both joined in the 'CovHead-19 Challenge' that invites people to sponsor others to shave their heads to try to “donate some money to a good cause and create some positives out of a bad situation.” Joe explained how he got involved with the initiative, which was set up by NHS Charities Together.

A CHARITY shop employee underwent a head-shave last Wednesday for a cause that helps children who suffer with mental health illness. Aaron Pointer from Uttoxeter’s Barnardo’s branch took to the shaver as part of the charity’s fund-raising season in aid of SOLAR, the specialist service for kids with mental health difficulties. A 'Guess The Bear' competition also ran at the charity shop from July to August with car washes and basic sales also raising money for the cause.

Fellow staff members and volunteers at the charity shop are carrying out other activities to bring in further funds for the charity.
