School children in a Moorlands village have been learning some life-saving skills. The first aid training has been taking place at St Werburgh’s CE Primary School in Kingsley.

Moorlands town is now ‘rescue ready’
A group of community-minded independent businesses has set about making a town in the Moorlands one of the safest places to ‘shop locally.’ Totally Locally Leek, part of a national grass roots high street campaign which encourages residents to ‘Love Where You Live,’ has gone one step further by organising training for business owners and their staff in essential life-saving techniques.

Shopper saves man’s life in supermarket
AN ALERT member of an East Staffordshire community group saved a man's life after he collapsed in a supermarket last Tuesday afternoon. Kerry Tillson, an adult instructor of the Uttoxeter Army Cadets, was out shopping with her partner when a middle-aged man suffered a seizure in Uttoxeter's Asda, on July 16. The qualified first aid instructor rushed to help the gentleman by putting him in the recovery position whilst another customer called 999, relaying information to the ambulance service.
