McDonald’s puts in plans for town
Fast food giant McDonald’s has submitted proposals to build a new restaurant in a Moorlands town. If given the green light by council planners the new restaurant, which is set to be built on the same site as Sainsbury’s in Leek, will offer up to 120 new jobs in the town.

Drive-thru plans set to be changed
A controversial planning application to bring a drive-thru restaurant to a Moorlands town is set to have changes made to it before community leaders make a decision on the proposals. We reported in March that a planning application had been submitted to Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (SMDC) for the “construction of a drive through restaurant” at the currently empty site of 113, Mill Street in Leek.
