Road speed reduction consultation extended

A consultation surrounding a proposed speed reduction in a Moorlands village has been extended. It is being proposed by Staffordshire County Council to reduce the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph on approaches to the proposed roundabout at the existing junction of Uttoxeter Road and Cresswell Road near Draycott-in-the-Moors.

Urgent call to save St Margaret’s Fayre

A 'perfect storm' of problems has put the future of a cherished village fayre in jeopardy. A dearth of volunteers, arid conditions last year and a clash of dates with Cheadle Carnival combined to put the 2019 St Margaret's Summer Fayre in doubt. Organisers are hosting a meeting next week in a bid to drum up support for the event this summer.
