A council is urging residents in a Moorlands town to have their say about the possible regeneration of their town by taking part in a survey. However, a number of residents in Cheadle have raised concern that they have not yet received a copy of the survey and accompanying newsletter about the initiative, even though Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has stated that all households in the town should have received one through their doors earlier this month.

More community leaders have aired concern over proposed parliamentary boundary changes for the Moorlands area. Last week we reported that Checkley Parish Council had spoken out about its “dismay” of possible parliamentary boundary changes in the Moorlands after the Boundary Commission for England had published a report which sets out the changes they are proposing for across the nation.

The first meeting of a new 'stakeholder panel' which is set to consult over developments in a Moorlands town will take place this month. The confirmation of the first meeting of the Cheadle Town Centre Projects Stakeholder Panel meeting has come from Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (SMDC).

A member of Parliament has taken his concerns surrounding the ‘lack of consultation’ regarding a project to revamp a Moorlands town to the House of Commons. The concerns raised by MP Bill Cash last week surrounded the controversial Cheadle Town Centre Projects initiative which is being implemented by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council.

A community leader has vowed that possible options for major changes in a Moorlands town which have been described in a council report are “not set in stone.” The Leader of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (SMDC) councillor Sybil Ralphs attended the virtual meeting of Cheadle Town Council on Monday evening after being invited following the SMDC Cabinet’s decision to establishment of a 'Town Centre Delivery Board' and a 'Stakeholder Panel' which are set to work to improve the town of Cheadle.
