Councillors have been at logger-heads over housing development issues in their town. Cheadle Town Council held their Meeting of Committees on Monday (July 4) in which discussions over housing development concerns caused great a dispute between councillors.

A civic leader has been elected to the same role for a second year running. Councillor Sue Walley, who has served as Cheadle Town Mayor for the last 12 months, has been elected by fellow town councillors to serve as mayor for a second year.

Lots of ‘trix’ on show at community event
A community event at a town’s main park has been hailed as a roaring success by the organisers. Cheadle Town Mayor, councillor Sue Walley, hosted a fundraising event at the weekend aimed at young people to highlight physical and mental wellbeing.

New civic appointments have been made at a town council. Councillor Sue Walley has been appointed as the new Mayor of Cheadle, while councillor Nigel Wood has been appointed as Cheadle Deputy Mayor.
