A bid for millions of pounds of Government funding is being made by a district council for two Moorlands towns. The Government is inviting councils to bid for their ‘Levelling Up Fund’ which is designed to “invest in infrastructure that improves everyday life across the UK.”

Loneliness is set to be tackled by councils within the Staffordshire Moorlands. The extended isolation which the pandemic has brought about was a talking point at the latest Parishes Together meeting, which involves Checkley, Draycott-in-the-Moors, and Forsbrook parish councils.

A community leader is calling for a review of traffic calming measures along the road outside his house after he, and his wife, helped to clear up after a road traffic collision recently. The call comes from Checkley Parish councillor Keith Flunder after an incident which involved two vehicles along the A522 last week.
