A community leader has praised the “prompt actions” of a police force following anti social behaviour at a Moorlands town’s main park. Cheadle councillor Kate Martin has praised Staffordshire Police for their quick reaction in upping patrols at Tean Road Recreation Grounds in Cheadle recently.

Park project turns to supporting pooches

A community reassurance project at a Moorlands park has this week turned to supporting pooches and their owners. The Cheadle Town Council funded initiative at Tean Road Recreation Ground in Cheadle has seen lots of community engagements take place at the site by youth worker Nicky Derrett and volunteer Annie Devereux who have been delivering the programme.

“It’s like playing Russian roulette”

Residents and community leaders are calling for further traffic calming measures to be put in place along a busy road in Cheadle. The call for the measures along the A521, at The Green, in Cheadle, comes after a road traffic collision in the area which involved a postal van and a residents car last week.

Rec set for revamp with £400,00 funding

A total of £400,000 is set to be spent on revamping a recreation grounds in a Moorlands town. The funds for Churchill Road Recreational Grounds in Cheadle have mainly come from monies which have been paid by developers of houses in the town – called Section 106 funds.

Revamp on the cards for play area

An open space management company has vowed it will be revamping a play area in the Moorlands after concerns have been raised about the state of the site. The announcement comes from GEL after concerns had been raised by residents about the state of the play area in Coleridge Drive in Cheadle which GEL manages.
