A community reassurance project at a Moorlands park has this week turned to supporting pooches and their owners. The Cheadle Town Council funded initiative at Tean Road Recreation Ground in Cheadle has seen lots of community engagements take place at the site by youth worker Nicky Derrett and volunteer Annie Devereux who have been delivering the programme.

Residents and community leaders are calling for further traffic calming measures to be put in place along a busy road in Cheadle. The call for the measures along the A521, at The Green, in Cheadle, comes after a road traffic collision in the area which involved a postal van and a residents car last week.

A new community reassurance programme in a Moorlands town has been a big hit with park users from the start. We reported last week that Cheadle Town Council had begun a trial of a Community Reassurance Programme which is aimed at encouraging and supporting users of the Tean Road Recreation Ground and its facilities.

A town council is set to take on a new employee to provide community reassurance at a recreation ground. Cheadle Town Council are recruiting for the all new Community Reassurance Worker role which will work at Tean Road Recreational Grounds.

A total of £400,000 is set to be spent on revamping a recreation grounds in a Moorlands town. The funds for Churchill Road Recreational Grounds in Cheadle have mainly come from monies which have been paid by developers of houses in the town – called Section 106 funds.

An open space management company has vowed it will be revamping a play area in the Moorlands after concerns have been raised about the state of the site. The announcement comes from GEL after concerns had been raised by residents about the state of the play area in Coleridge Drive in Cheadle which GEL manages.
