Council tax increase of 5.39 per cent in town

A TOWN council is set to raise it's precept by over five per cent for the next financial year. Cheadle Town Council has budgeted for events such as the 75th Anniversary celebrations of VE Day and the Cheadle Carnival 2020 – all of which will be taking place within the coming 12 months. A precept is a 'bill' which parish and town councils, and other statutory bodies, send to district councils – the authorities which collect council tax.

Five per cent tax increase in parish

A PARISH council is set to increase it's precept by five per cent. Forsbrook Parish Council has stated that the extra money to be paid by council tax payers within their parish during the financial year of 2020/21 will enable it to carry out “more community activity” within the village. Council tax hike for Uttoxeter residents

RESIDENTS in Uttoxeter are set to see a 3.48 per cent rise in their next council tax bill. Despite Uttoxeter Town Council deciding a slight decrease in their precept, other authorities whose precepts also make up the council tax bill, have announced increases this year resulting in an overall 3.48 per cent increase for Uttoxeter residents. East Staffordshire Borough Council, which bills residents for council tax in the area, has published the rates for the 2019/20 council tax for each of the wards.

COUNCIL tax is set to rise for families in Cheadle and the wider Moorlands. Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has set its budget for providing essential services at £9.8m for the coming year. A council tax increase of 2.9 per cent has also been agreed – setting Band D payments at £150.54 for 2019/20.
