One final public consultation is currently being carried out surrounding a proposed speed reduction along a highway in the Moorlands. In February, we reported that Staffordshire County Council had been reviewing the safety of it’s highway network and one of the forthcoming proposals was to reduce the speed limit to 30 miles-per-hour along another 250-metre section of Ashbourne Road in Cheadle.

A discount food retailer has confirmed that it is consulting over proposals to build a store in Cheadle. Aldi has launched a community consultation on plans for a new store in Cheadle.

A consultation has begun surrounding the regeneration of a Moorlands town. Staffordshire Moorlands District Council (SMDC) is asking people in Cheadle to take part in a consultation to “help shape Cheadle’s future development” in a two-stage consultation process starting with the launch of a survey asking people to comment on five “emerging priorities” for the town centre.

A CONSULTATION on plans to make Uttoxeter a greener, ‘wildlife friendly’ place has been launched by the town’s council. The consultation, which is open to residents and organisations in Uttoxeter, follows the creation of the new Uttoxeter Nature Recovery Network (UNRN). The network aims to work with developers and landowners to balance the loss of habitat and the impact of climate change.

COUNCILLORS are set to hear from the authority behind moves to potentially close Cheadle Hospital. Accountable officer for North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), Marcus Warnes, will attend a meeting of Cheadle Town Council on Monday. The meeting comes ahead of a public workshop at The Manor in Cheadle next month.
