Thanks for community volunteering

A volunteer has been thanked for her support in the community of a Moorlands town. The Cheadle Town Council funded Community Reassurance Programme at Tean Road Recreation Ground in Cheadle has seen lots of community engagement take place at the site by youth worker Nicky Derrett and volunteer Annie Devereux who have been delivering the programme since last Summer.

Pooch helps find missing phone

A dog and his owner have been praised for helping to find a missing phone in a town’s park. Cheadle Town Clerk Dave Mullington has explained to the Cheadle & Tean Times how teamwork between the council’s Community Reassurance Programme at Tean Road Recreation Ground and a dog walker and his pooch, helped to find a teenager’s mobile phone recently.

Community reassurance to continue at rec

A community reassurance programme which is proving to be a success at a town’s park is set to continue – at least for another month. The initiative, which is currently being funded and trialed by Cheadle Town Council, has seen lots of community engagement take place on the Tean Road Recreation Ground by youth worker Nicky Derrett and volunteer Annie Devereux who have been delivering the programme for the past eight weeks.

Community reassurance programme begins

Cheadle Town Council has taken steps to “further strengthen community values” for those using its Tean Road site over the forthcoming school summer holidays. Councillors agreed to trial a Community Reassurance Programme which is aimed at encouraging and supporting users of the recreation ground and its facilities.
