Police are warning dog owners to keep their pets under control after two dogs killed a number of sheep in the Moorlands. Police were called at 7am on Saturday (April 24) to farmland on Rectory Road in Hollington following reports of animals injured.

Dog owners in the Moorlands are being reassured over incidents of pet thefts in Staffordshire as “initial research indicates cases in the county are low.” And officers say that Staffordshire Police will continue to respond to reported incidents but have moved to relay fears over a perceived rise in dog thefts.

Community leaders are set to hear an update about policing across the Moorlands over the past 12 months. Staffordshire Moorlands District Council's Community Overview & Scrutiny Panel, which will next be meeting on Monday (February 1), is set to be presented with an update from the area’s Neighbourhood Policing Team Commander.

An appeal is being made for any information about drug dealing in a Moorlands town centre to be passed on to the police. The appeal comes from Cheadle town and district councillor Kate Martin who is concerned about an apparent increase in drug dealing in Cheadle town centre.
