Councillor pleads ‘not guilty’ to fraud
A CHEADLE councillor has pleaded 'not guilty' to fraud. Julie Bull, aged 55 of Holt Lane in Kingsley, appeared before the North Staffordshire Magistrates Court yesterday – Tuesday, May 14 - after being charged by Staffordshire Police on Tuesday, April 23 following an investigation into alleged fraud. The charges relate to a failure to disclose information at a meeting of the Staffordshire Moorlands District Council's planning applications committee in May 2016 of a pecuniary interest in land in Cheadle. Bull had, at that time, been a district councillor and a member of the planning committee.
