Takeaway customers have helped raise more than £3,200 for charity. The new branch of Domino’s in Cheadle has recently donated more than £3,200 to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice after raising funds through a one-off charity meal deal.

A Moorlands couple have been getting creative again to help raise cash for charity. Alan and Anita Fowell, who live in Werrington, began getting creative for charity during 2020’s lockdowns in making themed wooden decorations which they went on to sell with all proceeds going to charity.

A POLICE officer from Uttoxeter has raised more than £8,000 by shaving off his infamous ‘man bun.’ PC Rich Lymer lost 22 inches of hair on Saturday at a community fun day to mark the loss of his ‘luscious locks.’

A CHARITY shop employee is shaving his head next month in aid of a cause that helps children who suffer with mental health illness. Aaron Pointer from Uttoxeter’s Barnardo’s branch is letting his locks go as part of the charity’s fund-raising season in aid of SOLAR, the specialist service for kids with mental health difficulties. Fellow staff members and volunteers at the charity shop are carrying out other activities to bring in further funds for the charity.

A VILLAGE nursery has raised lots of cash for charity after hosting a community event. A Summer Fair was held at the Children 1st @ Acorns Upper Tean recently to celebrate the company's 30th birthday. All proceeds from the celebration have been donated to Aching Arms as part of the company’s pledge to support 30 good causes throughout its anniversary year.

A SCHOOL choir is continuing to raise funds for a hospice. The Cheadle Academy Sixth Form Choir began singing together in supermarkets during the festive period of 2017, following the sad death of their teacher Craig Beverley who passed away in October 2016. Since then they have raised thousands for the Dougie Mac charity which supported Craig and his family before he passed away after losing his battle with cancer.

A POST office counter clerk is taking on a 'hair raising' challenge – all in aid of charity. Dawn England, who works at Cheadle Post Office, has decided to have her long brunette locks shaved off in a bid to raise cash for the Douglas Macmillan. Dawn, who has worked at the Cheadle Post Office for 17 years, will be having her head shaved to a number two cut at a special event at the Lamplighter in Cheadle on Sunday, August 25 at around 5pm.
