Controversial plans unveiled for historic site
Plans have been unveiled for a new care home and a housing development for a historic site in Uttoxeter. The Uttoxeter Echo reported earlier this year that the former Parks Restaurant in Uttoxeter had been purchased by Mercian Developments Ltd, and that a petition had been set up due to the developer’s plans to knock down the historic building to make way for a new care home.

Care home’s thanks for support in lock down
‘OVERWHELMING’ support has been shown to a care home in Rocester during the coronavirus outbreak, bosses have said. Managers at Barrowhill Hall, a specialist dementia care and nursing home, thanked supporters after receiving donations of personal protective equipment (PPE) including masks and visors, together with hand-made laundry bags, hand creams and sanitisers, and treats for residents and staff.

A new plan for Lightwood site
A FORMER care home site in Cheadle, which has been empty for around 10 years, is finally set to be redeveloped into housing. Your Housing Group is aiming to develop the former Lightwood Care Home site in Well Street into 21 homes. In their report to SMDC's Community Overview and Scrutiny Panel, Your Housing Group's Property Manager Sharon Wheeler, said: “The development team are currently looking at developing two sites in the Staffordshire Moorlands area.
