THE EAST Staffordshire Conservative Association is set to vote on whether to re-adopt a member of parliament who represents Uttoxeter and Burton ahead of the general election that is due to take place on December 12. Members will cast a ballot at a meeting on Monday (November 11) as to whether MP Andrew Griffiths will be re-instated into his position via a simple 'yes' or 'no' vote. If the outcome is that Mr Griffiths will be re-adopted then he will be the party's constituency parliamentary candidate.

UTTOXETER MP Andrew Griffiths will face no further action after sending 2,000 sex texts to two barmaids in just 21 days. An investigation by the Conservative Party found Mr Griffiths, aged 48, may have breached its code of conduct after a newspaper published lewd messages sent by the former small business minister. However, the party has conluded it would be inappropriate to take further action given the state of his mental health “both now and at the time.”

A 'CHAOTIC' collapse took Uttoxeter MP, Andrew Griffiths from his 'dream job' as a government minister to the verge of suicide. The MP, who spent a month in a psychiatric hospital after a sex-text scandal hit headlines across the country, said abuse in his childhood and fear of being an older parent had led to a decades-long mental health battle. In an explanation to constituents, Andrew outlined how treatment for mental health problems allowed him to confront the pain of his past and hoped constituents would allow him to “rebuild my life and return to the job I love.”
