A Moorlands couple have been getting creative again to help raise cash for charity.
Alan and Anita Fowell, who live in Werrington, began getting creative for charity during 2020’s lockdowns in making themed wooden decorations which they went on to sell with all proceeds going to charity.
The couple have since raised more than £5,000 which has been split between a number of different charities.
They started with Thanksgiving and Remembrance poppies in 2020 and continued with mini Christmas trees and snowflakes during that year’s festive period, then Valentine’s decorations, before moving to making flowers and bunnies for 2021’s Easter period.
Charities which have benefited from the Fowell’s kind-heartedness have included: The Royal British Legion, The Dougie Mac, British Heart Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society, and Dementia UK.
This Spring, Alan and Anita have created lovely wooden daffodils, as well as chicks and bunnies for their latest fundraising project.
Alan said: “The daffodils are blooming, the Easter chicks are rocking and well the bunnies are doing what bunnies do best.
“Our latest charitable creations are all ready for your approval just in time for Marie Curie day on Wednesday, March 23, Mother’s Day on Sunday, March 27, and of course Easter.
“This year any money raised will be distributed to Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.
“Once again I am requesting donations so please give what you feel is fair.
“Lots of Creme Eggs to go with the bunnies and chicks so please call around.”
He added: “After five weeks of saw dust and creating we are now ready for you, it would be great to see you, and all for a worthy cause.
“Most of you know where to find us, on Moss Park Avenue.”
Anyone interested in purchasing any of Alan and Anita’s charity creations can send them a message via Facebook or pop by to their home in Werrington.
