A DENSTONE woman has taken on a high-flying challenge – all in aid of charity.
Margaret Shermer was one of the 20 brave fund-raisers who took to the skies to take part in a parachute jump recently in aid of the Donna Louise charity.
Margaret, aged 62, was one of the first skydivers to make the ‘One in a Million’ jump on the day. She said: “I’m not really sure how I found myself volunteering to do a tandem skydive.
“It was one of those flippant moments when I was asked a question and threw an answer back. It wasn’t until some months later that the reality hit me and it was too late to back out.
“However, it’s over and done now and I don’t regret a single moment. My heartfelt thanks to all those who helped me raise such a fantastic amount of money for the most worthy of causes.”
On jumping out of a plane, at 10,000 feet, Margaret helped to raise a collective £20,000 which is set to help the children and young adults who are supported by The Donna Louise.
