POTENTIALLY life-saving equipment has been installed at a primary school in Tean as part of a major fundraising drive.
The family of Joe Leyland have raised thousands in memory of the Painsley student, who passed away in 2016 shortly after collecting his GCSE results.
But now, Joe’s parents, Ian and Maria, have been able to donate a defibrillator to St Thomas’ Primary School in Tean, where Joe’s sister, Charlotte is a teacher.
Several fundraising events led by the Leyland’s have resulted in a number of life-changing and potentially life-saving milestones, including the installation of two defibrillators in the area, as well as a heart-screening day, which will be held at Painsley Catholic College in June.
