A fundraising group in the Moorlands is continuing its annual tour with Father Christmas.
Leek Rotary Club is currently ‘escorting’ the festive character around to various venues and neighbourhoods across the district.
A spokesman for Leek Rotary Club said: “Sunday evening saw Rotarians from Leek out supporting Santa’s Sleigh around the Cheddleton area.
“The bright lights and the music drew many children and their parents to see the Great Man who was accompanied by Mrs Claus and her Elf.
“Santa had been particularly busy in the build up to Christmas with a visit to Morrisons on Saturday and three sessions in the grotto on Sparrow Park.
“He’s around this week at Sainsbury’s on Friday (December 17) and Wilko’s on Saturday (December 18).
“He will also be on the streets of Haregate on Thursday (December 16) and the West End (of Leek) on Sunday (December 19).
“Plus visits to our grotto are available, by appointment, on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and the Sunday Supplement Market.”
The spokesman added: “Last week Santa’s efforts raised over £1,200 for local charities and we Rotarians, whilst very grateful for the support of the Leek and district community, aim to do even better this week.
“The Grotto has plenty of Christmas items on offer and the Club offers any responsible local charity to call in and see if there is anything that they can make use of.”
The remaining Rotary Santa tours set to take place this week include:
Haregate on Thursday (December 16) starting at 4.30pm: Abbotts Road (from near The Priory), Westminster Road, Haregate Road, Argles Road, Horsecroft Crescent, Queens Drive, Princess Avenue, Prince Charles Avenue, Windsor Drive.
Around the West End of Leek on Sunday (December 19) starting at 4pm: Fernwood Drive, Wallbridge Drive, Rownall View, Beggars Lane, Spring Gardens, Shirley Street, Morley Street, Westwood View, Picton Street, Cruso Street, Barngate Street then Langford Street/West End Avenue to finish.
