FARMERS and other rural businesses in the Moorlands are being urged to apply for grant funding ahead of next month's deadline.

The Staffordshire LEADER programme is an initiative designed to support growth and help create employment in the county.

The Staffordshire County Council scheme, which covers large parts of the Moorlands, is open for new applications this month but the deadline has been set for Sunday, February 11.

The initiative is open to businesses, farmers and entrepreneurs who need support to get an idea up and running or develop an existing business.
