Distressed woman helped to safety
A ROOFTOP rescue saw one of the main thoroughfares through Cheadle closed to traffic on Monday evening.
Officers from Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service were deployed to Tape Street, Cheadle at around 7.40pm on Monday 26th June following reports of a woman in distress.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police told the Times and Echo: “We were called to an address in Tape Street Cheadle following a call from our colleagues in the ambulance service requesting assistance in dealing with a woman in distress.
“She had climbed onto the roof of a building and the main road was closed off while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
“The woman came down and the incident was resolved safely. She was later taken to a place of safety for further medical support.”
