One Cheadle business is awarded a score of just one out of five
FOOD hygiene inspectors for Staffordshire’s Ratemyplace have been out in force again in recent weeks, and the results are in.
Hetty’s Tea Shop, Froghall Wharf, Whiston Bank, has drawn in crowds ever since opening in April, and now, after a visit from the Food Hygiene Inspectors the premises has been awarded an impressive five out of five stars.
The Huntsman, of The Green, Cheadle, were awarded four stars of a possible five after receiving a positive report, with only a few minor concerns listed by inspectors.
Likewise, Babylon Pizza and Kebabland, in High Street, Cheadle, has also received a four out of a possible five star rating.
Draycott Arms, of Cheadle Road, Draycott in the Moors, was awarded four out of five stars, with an impressive report that included just a few minor concerns.
Cheadle Butchers however, located in High Street, Cheadle was awarded a low score of just one star out of five.
Inspectors have insisted that major improvements are made at the premises, with the inspection report listing numerous concerns over health and food hygiene.
Amongst the issues raised officials described how there was also no anti-bacterial spray on the premises at the time of inspection and that relevant training had not been given to staff on practices of safe food preparation and handling.
Ratemyplace is a partnership between the majority of Staffordshire local authorities to publish details of food safety inspection reports and hygiene rating scores across the county.
Ratemyplace has aligned itself with the national food hygiene rating scheme, which is calculated by taking into account how hygienic the premises are, whether they take into account of recognised food hygiene practices and how much confidence the inspector has in the management to keep their premises up to standard.
