RESIDENTS FEAR FOR SAFETY AT BUSY ROAD JUNCTION

By timesecholife on in Latest News

FED-UP families are calling for urgent action at a busy junction in Cheadle.

Neighbours say work to build a new footpath in Dilhorne Road is forcing drivers to mount an existing pavement to dodge oncoming traffic.
They claim pedestrians are being put at risk and are calling for safety measures while the project, connected to the development of new houses in the area, is being carried out.
Resident Darren Hayton claims improvement work at the junction, which connects Dilhorne Road with The Green, is forcing drivers to stop on a busy main road or mount the curb.
The 44-year-old said: “The road was narrow enough before, but now you can’t even get two cars down there at the same time.
“I’ve had to reverse a few times to let cars in coming from The Green on to Dilhorne Road.
“Something needs to be done before someone is really hurt – it’s so dangerous, especially for children walking home from school.
