A support charity in the Moorlands is on the move.

Moorlands Home Link has this week announced they are moving to “new and improved premises” in Cheadle.

The move comes as the charity’s current rental agreement in Charles Street was set to end this Autumn.

A spokesman for Moorlands Home Link said: “Earlier this year, our charity was informed by Cheadle Methodist Church that the agreement we held to rent premises in Charles Street, Cheadle would not be renewed from September 2022.

The move to our new home at Black Horse House, Tape Street, Cheadle will take place over the next few weeks.

Everyone at Moorlands Home Link is extremely excited about this next phase of our charity’s development.

The new premises will give our organisation ample space and improved facilities to continue to provide and expand our well-regarded and vital support services to older people.

A premises move for a charity of our size and age is not an easy undertaking and while all services will continue without interruption we ask for your patience as we complete our move.”

Moorlands Home Link provides older people and their families in Cheadle and across the Staffordshire Moorlands with a range of support services every week including Day Care, Meals on Wheels, Community Outreach Groups and One to One Befriending.

The spokesman added: “We also provide guidance and support to families to help them to navigate the current Adult Health and Social Care System.

Our existing partnership with Moorlands Voluntary Community Transport will continue at our new premises alongside our partnerships with other relevant organisations to support an individual older person’s needs.

We fully recognise how fortunate we are to have secured new premises for the charity to remain in Cheadle and want to thank everyone who is generously supporting us with our move.

As a not-for-profit local charity, we rely on the kindness and support of the community and if any local businesses or individuals would like to be involved with supporting our work, please contact our office.

If you or anyone you know would like more information about our charity, the supportive services we offer, or wish to make a donation to support our work please telephone the office on 01538 750511 or emailoffice@moorlandshomelink.co.uk.

You can also follow our Facebook page facebook.com/MoorlandsHomeLink to keep up to date with our future developments and events.”
