BRIDE TO BE HAS HEAD SHAVED IN AID OF CANCER RESEARCH UK
A BRIDE-TO-BE has shaved her head in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Rebekah Snow, 28, a health care support worker from Cheadle, ‘braved the shave’ two years to the day before she married her long-term partner, Sara Walker.
Rebekah – known as Becky – has had shoulder-length dreadlocks for the last two years, but after a challenging year for her family, decided to do something positive in the battle against cancer.
She said: “I just wanted to give something back. I wanted to do something positive and move forward together.
“My mum was diagnosed about six years ago. It took a long time, but I always wanted to give something back and, with Sara by my side, I finally felt strong enough and confident enough to do it.
“I didn’t think it would suit me, but I’m happy with the result.”
Becky had her locks shorn at The Queen’s Arms in Queen Street, on Tuesday, September 19, raising more than £300 for Cancer Research UK.
On September 19, 2019, Becky and Sara will celebrate their marriage at The Moat House in Stoke-on-Trent.
Becky added: “I just want to thank my family and friends for supporting me and donating to the charity.”
